The 4th International Congress of Interventional Cardiology — GAIC 2026 — was held on June 26-27, bringing together leading cardiologists, scientists, and medical professionals from Georgia and various European countries. The main goal of the congress was to share modern knowledge, clinical experience, and practical approaches in interventional cardiology, as well as to promote the implementation of international standards.

The event was attended by 4Hospitals, which presented Translumina’s “Protege” and Shunmei IVL modern solutions in the field of interventional cardiology, as well as CHISON’s ultra-modern ultrasound systems. During the congress, doctors and representatives of the medical field had the opportunity to personally get acquainted with the presented medical technologies in the 4Hospitals exhibition space, view the equipment and practically test its working process.

According to the President of the Association of Interventional Cardiologists, Zviad Kereselidze, about 30 speakers participated in the congress, 16 of whom were foreign specialists. Experts invited from Germany, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Serbia and other countries shared the latest clinical experience and international practice with the attendees. According to him, thematic sessions, workshops and satellite symposia were held within the framework of the congress, which aimed to deepen the professional education of doctors, increase access to modern treatment methods and promote the introduction of European and Western medical standards in Georgia.

According to Ioseb Sikharulidze, Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology, Cardiologist, Doctor of Medicine, the association has been actively working for seven years to ensure that local specialists have access to modern medical achievements and technologies.
“I would like to thank you, the company, for your support. I would like to thank you for standing by our side and trying together to achieve the best results in the interests of the patient,” said Ioseb Sikharulidze in an interview.

According to Lasha Chantladze, Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department at TIM Clinic, the program was distinguished by its practical sessions. Of particular interest was the session dedicated to bifurcation lesions, where one of the world’s leading experts, Prof. Goran Stankovic, gave a lecture along with a live demonstration, which gave participants the opportunity to gain experience based on real clinical practice.
Lasha Chantladze also emphasized the importance of supporting partner companies and noted that organizing international congresses of this scale is possible precisely with their active involvement.
GAIC 2026 has once again become an important platform for international professional cooperation, sharing of experience, and familiarization with modern medical technologies, which serves to develop interventional cardiology in Georgia and increase access to high-quality medical services for patients.
